A lovely and easy hike. The highest point in Poughkeepsie.
Very nice. Quiet, well maintained trails and beautiful view
Nice simple climb, great views from the summit. Good for dogs!
We were at the Apple Cider Ramble. The event had a suggested donation, but you got to pick the apples and turn it into apple cider with their press. The volunteers are (and were) doing a great job!
Not too much scenery along the unpaved (mowed grass) trails. If you're concerned about ticks you may want to pass on this one. The multiple trails can be confusing and disorienting as there's no signage directing you to where the entrance is. You can easily go in circles since the trails circle the park and some seem to have unmarked shortcuts. There are printed maps at the entrance, I'd suggest bringing one with you if it's your first time. It's local, so it merits on its convenience factor for us. The standout features are the few stops along the way for viewing and the summit itself which is the highest point in the Town of Poughkeepsie. Picnic tables and benches are along the way if you want to sit and rest. It's a quiet park with many opportunities to view wildlife, especially bunnies and birds.
